Vegan Cauliflower Buffalo Wings

It is time for the big game! And you know what that means…football watch parties! You may be going to a party, hosting a party, or just watching in the comfort of your own home with your family. But nonetheless, you still like to get in the football spirit so that means football foods! Now, typically buffalo wings are a football food, but this is a vegan spin on them – hence cauliflower buffalo wings! I must say though, these taste JUST as good (if not better)!

I used to eat buffalo wings. Now that I’m vegetarian and my husband is vegan, we still like to put our own spin on the foods we used to enjoy! These vegan cauliflower buffalo wings do not disappoint! You can either cut the cauliflower into florets or bite size pieces. I usually like to mine to be closer to bite size pieces so people can just pop them in their mouth (and it’s less messy!).

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups brown rice flour

2 heads of cauliflower

1 cup Frank’s Red Hot Buffalo Wing sauce (or more if you’d like)

1/2 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp garlic powder

2 1/4 cups water

Instructions

1

Preheat the oven to 475 degrees.

2

Combine the brown rice flour, water, paprika, garlic powder, and salt in a small-medium bowl. Stir until mixed.

3

Cut the cauliflower into florets (or bite size pieces) and put into a large bowl.

4

Pour the batter over the cauliflower and toss until all pieces are thoroughly coated.

5

Line a large pan with parchment paper.

6

Pour the cauliflower onto the pan and spread evenly.

7

Bake for 22-25 minutes, until crispy on the outside.

8

Remove from the oven, put them back into a large bowl, and toss with buffalo wing sauce. Note: the wings may stick together, but they should come apart when you toss them in the bowl. If not, you can easily break them apart.

9

Pour them back onto the pan and spread evenly.

10

Bake again for approximately 5-10 minutes until crispy. If they don’t get as crispy as you’d like, you can broil them for 1-2 minutes.

11

Remove from the oven and serve.

12

Enjoy with buffalo sauce and/or ranch dressing for dipping, celery, and carrots!
