If you love Starbucks Perfect oatmeal, here is a less sugary option that can help you watch your diet (and your wallet).  This is an easy breakfast that tastes great with minimal effort. Cooking Oatmeal with Silk Light Soy Milk brings the sweet taste you want without all the sugar. It is also packed with protein and calcium to keep your mornings moving.  This heart healthy and diabetic friendly breakfast will leave you full and packed with energy to start your day!

Note: Depending on how many bowls you want to make, check the side of the oats can and double that amount for the Silk Light Soy Milk

1)   Fill a pot with Silk Light Soy Milk and place on stove on medium heat until it reaches a light simmer.

2)   Add the Steel Cut Oats!

3)   Stir frequently for about 10-15 minutes until you have reached your desired thickness. (I personally cook mine longer because it is thicker and less watery).

4)   Once you have reached your desired thickness, add cinnamon, raspberries, grapes and strawberries. If you want it sweeter add some Stevia for a zero calorie punch.

Note: It is important to check on your oatmeal every couple of minutes otherwise the soy milk will form a film on top and you will find them in your oatmeal (this is okay if it happens, just has a funny texture).

5)   Enjoy!
