crossfit Crossfit has grown to become quite a hit over the last few years and continues to be a great alternative to the typical day at the gym. However, some people are still wondering why crossfit is getting the attention that it’s been receiving and what the main reasons are behind its popularity. Similar to Zumba, while there are quite a few reasons why crossfit is so loved by plenty of people, there are a few reasons why it is effective and popular.

People are simply just sick of living in the gym and hoping that they will see results. Crossfit is something that will have you coming in and out of the gym with the most effective workouts. Crossfit is great for endurance athletes but the workout also caters to those wanting a particular focus on strength. The combination between endurance and strength is amazing and this is why Crossfit is widely utilized by athletes from a range of sports. Athletes are able to do exercises that can be directly used for their sport.

The simple fact that Crossfit is something new and “against most people” is why those utilizing Crossfit love it. People relish feeling like they are doing something “different” and going against what the mainstream tells them. This is human nature and a particular reason why Crossfit has yet to take over the fitness world. There are still skeptics and these are typically people scared to try something against their established routine. Though Crossfit is fairly new, the simple concepts and theories behind the workout have been tested for years. The name is fairly new, but short and intense workouts have been around for ages.

People are constantly going to Crossfit centers all over the world to get into amazing shape while being part of something exciting and new.     I did Crossfit for years before following my husband to the Oregon Coast (where unbelievably, they’ve never heard of Crossfit). It’s driving me crazy not to have a gym full of athletes/motivators to push me. I think anyone who wants to be in shape should try Crossfit. It’s absolutely amazing!

      This article also misses the community aspect of it. It’s the reason why I did martial arts for 20 years and will find a box wherever I move…. Instant friends who live clean and work hard.

    I think CrossFit has the best community, they also really make sure trainers, coaches etc really know the history and practices of CrossFit, it’s crazy, anyone can open up a gym, but if you want to Open a CrossFit gym nd be affillitated with them you better plan on really truelly going through a lot of studying, training and seminars. I have done all kinds of different types of weightlifting to bodybuilding, but now I stick with CrossFit, because it gets you the most results the fastest and they also have tons of information out there to help you become better, if you have form issues they have Mobilitywod.com so you can learn how to fix mobility issues etc. I’m just super impressed with how much I have learned doing CrossFit and how much I still have to learn

    This is a great article!
    I just got in to Crossfit a month ago. While there are many women I train with, many people still think this is a man’s workout. This article simplifies this workout that tends to hold mystery.
